Our friends at Half Moon Outfitters are bringing the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour to Savannah’s Johnny Mercer Theater on April 16 at 7 p.m.

evoWe’re offering free bicycle valet parking again this year, right in front of the theater. We are holding a raffle featuring a variety of awesome prizes, including an EVO Classic City bicycle, generously donated by the Bicycle Link. Raffle proceeds will benefit Savannah Bicycle Campaign and the Georgia Conservancy Coastal Office.

The Banff Mountain Film Festival, a program of The Banff Centre, is the largest, and one of the most prestigious, mountain festivals in the world. Hot on the heels of the festival held every fall in Banff, Alberta, the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour hits the road.

With stops planned in about 390 communities and 35 countries across the globe, this year’s tour features a collection of the most inspiring action, environmental, and adventure films from the festival.

Traveling to exotic landscapes and remote cultures, and bringing audiences up-close and personal with adrenaline-packed action sports, the 2013/2014 World Tour is an exhilarating and provocative exploration of the mountain world.

From approximately 300 films entered into the annual festival, award-winning films and audience favorites are among the films chosen to travel the globe.

The Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour brings Banff to audiences around the globe. A selection of the best films go on tour across Canada, the United States, and internationally from Scotland to South Africa to China, Lebanon, Chile, New Zealand, Antarctica, and points in between. Each year, the films travel to 40 countries reaching more than 390,000 people at over 840 screenings. The films on exploration and adventure, culture and environment, and mountain sports.
