Atlanta based Ponderosa will release their sophomore album Pool Party on July 31st on New West Records, home to John Hiatt, Steve Earle, The Old 97’s and many others. The new album was produced by Dave Fridmann (Flaming Lips, Mercury Rev and MGMT) and has garnered advance praise from Paste Magazine, NPR’s All Songs Considered, and Stomp And Stammer.

“Ponderosa is a band on the brink of great things and their new album takes them in fantastic new directions without losing their trademark southern feel” said Stopover founder Kayne Lanahan. “We’re thrilled they are coming back to play what has become the signature event of Savannah’s summer!”

Up and coming band This Mountain, who hail from Johnson City, TN will open. The unsigned band’s sound has been compared to My Morning Jacket, Band of Horses and Fleet Foxes. The band’s self-funded debut album Future Ghosts will be released on August 22nd, 2012.

“The Midnight Garden Ride is a celebration of Savannah and the joy of bicycling – the streets cleared of cars and filled with bicycles, flashing lights, costumes and music. The Good and Evil Party is the perfect exclamation point to follow the rolling revelry of the Midnight Garden Ride” added Frank McIntosh, Executive Director of the Savannah Bicycle Campaign. “The concert, featuring these great, emerging southern bands, is a perfect way to remind people how much fun cycling is and how it brings us all closer together.”

Costumes and Festive Table decorations are encouraged and will be rewarded with prizes.
