Concerned about Traffic Safety? Come Hear about Vision Zero!

September 14, 2022 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Are you concerned about traffic and pedestrian safety? Come hear about the Vision Zero!

Join Friends of Massie as we host our first 2022-23 “Community Classroom” session. Savannah’s City Manager, Jay Melder, along with District 4 Alderman, Nick Palumbo, and District 6 Alderman, Kurtis Purtee, will discuss the Vision Zero resolution adopted by the City of Savannah in Feburary 2022. This “Community Classroom” session will discuss how businesses, residents, and community-based partners and organizations can work together to achieve the goal of eleiminating traffic detals by 2027.

Vision Zero is an internationally recognized road safety pledge to reduce traffic-related deaths. The increase of pedestrians killed in 2021 reminds us that the best time to get started is now. Federal grants combined with local funds will be used for new street signs, markings, as well as improved streetscapes. That is the promise of the program.

Join us for this INVITATION ONLY talk that will take place on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Massie Heritage Center, at 6:30 pm.

This event is by invitation only. This event is NOT open to the public. Due to limited capacity, guests are not permitted. For further questions please call (912) 395-5070 or email friendsofmassie@gmail.com. R.S.V.P. through EventBrite no later than September 12.
