Friends of Massie Presents” Vision Zero, Where Are You?

September 25 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

We have been waiting patiently for two years for your help!  Friends of Massie hosted a Community Conversation two years ago to announce the Vision Zero initiative- to eliminate traffic deaths by 2027.  Learn what progress has been made and how the program would affect your streets or your neighborhood.  Vision Zero is an internationally recognized road safety pledge to reduce traffic-related deaths.  The increase in pedestrian deaths in 2024 reminds us that the best time to get started is now.  The program promises to use federal grants and local funds for new street signs, markings, and improved streetscapes. Add your voice to solving the traffic deaths problems and learn more about the City’s plan to eliminate traffic deaths by 2027.

Speakers: City Manager, Jay Melder, with District 4 Alderman, Nick Palumbo and Caila Brown. Bike Walk Executive Director and Harold Taylor, Vision Zero Coordinator.

At the Fall “Community Conversation” session at Massie Heritage Center, they will review Savannah’s Vision Zero initiative to increase safe and healthy streets for all.
